The upper house of the Russian parliament unanimously approved a defense agreement with North Korea on Wednesday.
President Vladimir Putin signed the agreement during a visit to North Korea in June, but its details have not been made public.
According to the Kremlin, the agreement is clear and there is no need to open it in more detail in public. The lower house of the Parliament, the Duma, also unanimously approved the agreement on October 24. The agreement will next be signed by Putin.
Russia and North Korea have deepened their mutual cooperation politically and militarily. North Korea is believed to have sent around 10,000 soldiers to help Russia fight against Ukraine.
