The United States suspended almost all foreign aid on Friday. The country only made exceptions for emergency food aid and military aid to Israel and Egypt.
Foreign minister Marco Rubio told about the tightening in an internal memo. News agency AFP has seen Rubio’s memo.
According to the memorandum, new funding will not be released until each new aid target or extension related to a previous target has been separately reviewed and approved.
