Finland’s under-18 ice hockey girls will face the Czech Republic in Thursday’s World Cup quarterfinals.

Finland’s under-18 girls’ national ice hockey team lost to the United States 0-5 (0-1.0-3.0-1) in the final match of the first group of the World Cup home tournament on Tuesday in Vantaa.
The United States, which won the opening group A crushingly, was in a class of its own in the match and took the fight to the goal with as many as 59-7 shots.
Kerttu Kuja-Halkola stopped 54 shots. The USA’s power player was Anabella Fanalewho summed up the points 1+2. Chain mate Kylie Amelkovich size 1+1.
The United States, who played with discipline, did not allow a single goal in their own net in their three games in the first group.
In the last game of Group B, the Czech Republic lost to Canada 0–5.
Finland, who finished third in the group, will face the Czech Republic, the second in group B, in the World Cup quarter-final on Thursday at 17:00.
Thursday’s other quarterfinals are USA vs. Slovakia, Canada vs. Japan, and Sweden vs. Switzerland.
