– The police authority is also hard-pressed and understaffed. I see an urgent need for more bodyguards at both authorities to succeed in the mission. The social climate increases the demands on us and we need to become more. We have problems recruiting enough bodyguards today, says Benny Larsson, chief security officer at Säpo, to Today’s news.
Säpo’s main mission is to protect the central state leadership, which consists of approximately 400 security personnel. Management agrees that recruitment is a problem.
“It is a challenge both from the point of view of getting enough applicants with the right background and skills, as well as getting the applicant who meets the requirements,” writes Karin Lutz, press spokesperson at Säpo, in an email to DN.
