A national team debutants Ella Halvarsson, Anna-Karin Heijdenberg and Anton Ivarsson are selected for the World Cup premiere in biathlon in Kontiolax, Finland.
“We have seen a strong drive from both our established skaters and the new ones in the A team,” says national team coach Johannes Lukas.
Ella Halvarsson and Anna-Karin Heijdenberg convinced during the Swedish premiere in Idre, and now they are each rewarded with a place in the Swedish squad for the World Cup.
The chance in the World Cup
“We have seen a strong drive from both our established skaters and the new ones in the A team. It will be very exciting to follow our skaters when they now have to compete with the best from all other countries,” says head coach John Luke in a press release.
Anton Ivarsson missed the Sweden premiere after an appendectomy in October, but has been back in training for some time.

“We see that Anton has an upward trend and think he should be able to perform well in Kontiolahti,” says Lukas.
Hanna Öberg back
Halvarsson, Heijdenberg and Ivarsson have competed in some World Cup competitions before.
Hanna Öbergwho missed the races in Idre due to a cold, is also selected for the VC premiere which starts next Saturday.

However, missing Emil Nykvist who have problems with a foot, as well Linn Gestblom who is still rehabilitating his shoulder after spring surgery.
The World Cup premiere in Kontiolax is 30 November–8 December.
