Now the UN is appealing to member states to speed up their reception processes and accept those in need.

“Many refugees who left their country for Turkey in search of safety and protection are now facing a new trauma where they have lost their home and livelihood,” the UN migration agency IOM and refugee agency UNHCR write in a joint statement.
