Luther and Sloane in Season 3 of Umbrella Academy
Season 4 starts six years laterWe see all the members of the dysfunctional family in their more or less normal lives, which they have built up over the years without any superpowers. Luther is now a stripper and loves his job. Sloane, however, is not mentioned at all. Neither at the beginning nor at the end of the final season. She simply seems to have been forgotten.
That’s why Sloane is missing from the Umbrella Academy finale
Showrunner Steve Blackman, against whom allegations have been made, explains the absence: It was out of “logistical reasons” happenedIn an interview with TVLine, Blackman even reveals which storyline he wanted to implement for Sloane:
I couldn’t do the Luther Sloane storyline that I wanted to do this season. I wanted Sloane to live but not remember Luther and he has to make her fall in love again. We couldn’t do it for logistical reasons.
He couldn’t have packed the storyline into the season because they had less time overall. Unlike the previous seasons with 10 episodes, the finale only had 6 episodes. Some ideas had to make way for the main storyline of the world ending again.
