Tips for motorcyclists and motorists
Officially, the motor season usually starts in March or April, depending on the weather. With the first spring weather, more and more motorcyclists are on the road. That always takes some getting used to, even for motorists, says Bas Vis of the KNMV. “You sometimes have a moment: oh, he didn’t see me.” Being alert to each other is his advice.
Motorcyclists who remove their motorcycle from the winter storage receive tips from the ANWB:
– Check the tire pressure
– Check the battery
– Check the liquids and fill them up if necessary
– Check the chain and gears
-Ceck the lighting
– Provide the right motorcycle clothing
“It is important that you make your motorcycle ready for season,” the ANWB advises. “The moment he has stood still for a long time, you have to check or have your engine checked. Then you safely go on the road.”
