The hunt for the internationally wanted TV4 profile has intensified.
Now the British authorities announce that they have carried out operations in several places – but have not succeeded in tracking him down.
“We have conducted research on a number of potential locations for the person in question, but have not yet succeeded in serving the subpoena,” writes the British central authority.
In questioning, the TV4 profiler admitted 31 cases of buying sex, but then disappeared when he was to be served with the charges. Now a total of three of the cases have been statute-barred, the most recent on Monday.
In order to serve the TV4 profile with the lawsuit, the district court has asked for help from British authorities, which they undertook last week.
The search in the UK continues
In email correspondence with the district court, the British central authority now states that it searched for the TV4 profile in several places. Despite the efforts, they have not succeeded in serving him the summons and he is still missing.
“We are continuing to investigate, but if you receive any further information about the person’s whereabouts, please let us know, as this would assist our enforcement authorities,” writes the UK central authority.
The district court states that it understands that the information sent to Great Britain is somewhat more limited than usual, but that it appreciates the attempts to try to share the TV4 profile. They also state that they will be in continued contact if they get any more information about where he might be.
Prescribed only after 15 years – if he is served with the indictment
Three cases have already been statute-barred, as the statute of limitations for the purchase of sex is two years. Should the British manage to locate and serve the prosecution on the TV4 profile, then absolute prescription applies.
– If you can serve the charge, the longer statute of limitations applies, it’s called absolute statute of limitations – that you may not impose a penalty after 15 years from the crime, Karoline Wilson, preparatory lawyer at the district court, previously told TV4 Nyheterna.
The next offense is statute-barred in February
According to the police investigation, before the escape of the TV4 profile, he made several searches on the internet. Among other things, “what happens if I don’t receive the service” and “what happens if I stay away from the police during the limitation period”.
On February 10, the next crime is time-barred and the fight against the clock to serve him continues.
TV4 Nyheterna has searched for the prosecutor who leads the investigation and the police hunt.
