The popular SVT series “A case for Vera” goes to the grave. After next season have Brenda Blethyn solved his last case as the sarcastic commissioner.

The 14th and final season will be filmed this summer.
“Working on ‘A Case of Vera’ has been a dream from start to finish. It’s sad to say goodbye, but I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last 14 years,” actor Brenda Blethyn said in a statement to BBC.

The crime series, which is based on the author Ann Cleeves novels, premiered on British television in 2011 and is about Commissioner Vera Stanhope who solves crimes in the English county of Northumberland, on the border with Scotland. The series has also become a hit with viewers on SVT in Sweden.
Brenda Blethyn, 78, has been nominated for an Oscar twice and has been seen in films such as “Secrets and Lies”, “Pride and Prejudice” and “Little Voice”.
