The TV profile’s first words about the giant rumor in Leksand – being named as the new coach instead of Björn Hellkvist: “I’m happy”

Leksand is looking for a new coach in the SHL.
Then Björn Hellkvist will be gone “indefinitely”.
Now a TV profile is pointed out as the perfect replacement.

Once again the SHL coach is forced Björn Hellkvist to take a break in the booth, this time for “indefinite time”. Which means that Leksand is looking for reinforcements until the day, no one knows when, Hellkvist returns.

Leksand slips to twelfth place in the SHL table after only 13 recorded points in the first 12 games of the new season. But now a strong candidate has been singled out for the vacant coaching job.

TV profile current

It’s about the TV profile and the expert commentator Fredrik Söderström. He has previously coached IK Oskarshamn, Norwegian Storhamar and Swiss IK Olten, but in recent years has worked as an expert in TV4 for both HockeyAllsvenskan and SHL.

The 46-year-old also has a very strong connection to Leksand as he is the son of the club icon Dan Söderstrom. Now the TV profile breaks the silence about the giant rumor in Dalarna.
– I understand that when Leksand is in a situation where they need a coach that my name comes up, he says to Falu-Kuriren.

Fredrik Söderström’s own hockey journey began in Leksands IF as a youth coach in the late 90s. But so far he has never coached the A team in his hometown.
– If they want me as a coach for the right reasons, it makes me happy, if people see something good in me as a coach. It is reasonable that my name appears because I am from Leksand and live in Leksand, he tells the local newspaper.
