The TV profile’s adamant criticism – points out the detail that decided the European Championship final for England: “He is a giant baby”

England lost another final.
Now Alexander Axén directs enormous criticism at England – and the star forward Harry Kane.
– He is totally incompetent, says the TV expert.

England have not won a major championship since 1966(!) and they will have to wait at least two more years after another final loss in this year’s EC. England lost on penalties to Italy in the last European Championship, and after a late decision from Mikel Oyarzabal on Sunday, it was another final defeat in Berlin.

The huge criticism of the star

On Tuesday, it was announced that Gareth Southgate, the national team captain who has led England to several championships in a row, is leaving his job. And it doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Southgate and England have been heavily criticized for their defensive style of football at this year’s European Championship, and star players such as Phil Foden, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham have struggled to contribute forward.

Harry Kane is perhaps the player who has received the most criticism for his weak EC, despite the fact that he actually scored three goals in the championship. But according to Alexander Axén, who is an all-Swedish expert on Max, formerly Discovery, the choice to play Kane was one of the reasons why England lost.

– You are tired of them playing with one less man for pretty much the entire tournament. That giant baby at the top, then… I have never liked him, and he is totally inept and must continue to drive, he says in Fotbollsmorgon.

“It is impossible”

Alexander Axén usually says that a team captain should always play, but in this case Ollie Watkins, who saved England in the semi-final against the Netherlands with a late decisive goal, should have been given the start.

– He is not a captain, I don’t know what he is. As soon as he’s gone England have been good, and football will be better at once when he’s gone. I’m sorry, then, it’s too bad coaching, he says.

Harry Kane was replaced after just one hour in the final against Spain, but he should never have started in the first place, says Axén.

– He must never take him out to play. He’s been so bad all along, so how can he suddenly be good? It is absolutely impossible. It’s too late for him to take him out, and he shouldn’t have been allowed to play at all.
