Jessica Granqvist lives in Kungsbacka, but boyfriend Thomas Tornevall and his family have brought her to Klippan. This autumn she is moving down and she wants to take the tug-of-war with her. She is already starting a new club. During the opening weekend, family members had broken up, but she hopes to get more members together in the future.
– It’s heavy and shitty, but it’s a lot about the fact that it’s a team sport. You develop all the time, she says.
Previously burned out
Jessica Granqvist had previously suffered from illness and was burnt out. But tug-of-war became her way back to health and work. In 2016, her oldest daughter had started tug-of-war and a few months later she tried the sport herself and has been hooked ever since.
– After two months, everything started to sharpen up. Eventually I was able to start working as well. Exercise does a lot for mental and physical well-being, says Jessica Granqvist.
