Under the direction of Eric Blix made “The prisoners at the fort” enter the television box in 1990 and since then the TV4 program has entertained several generations, for several decades.

Nowadays it is Agneta Sjödin and Gunde Swan who is the host of the long drive where celebrities, divided into teams, must take on the challenges hidden in the cells at Fort Boyard.

What are viewers not allowed to see in “Prisoners at the Fort”?

Over the years, viewers have seen the celebrities make their way through tight spaces, in balancing acts and at dizzying heights. Not infrequently a bunch of spiders, scorpions or worms make a guest appearance in one of the cells.

But there is also a lot that happens behind the scenes, which those at home on the TV sofas don’t get to see. News24 have asked four quick questions Jonathan Nordinexecutive producer of “The Prisoners of the Fort” who gives an insight into what goes on behind the cameras, before and during the filming of the show.

– How many cells have been built at the fort over the years?

– Close to 200 different cells have been built at the fort over the years.

– How does it happen when you put together the team in “Prisoners at the Fort”?

– The teams are constructed so that there are equal conditions for both competitors.

– How long do the recordings last for a season?

– We record two Prisoners at the Fort programs per day. We are usually down in France for about two weeks.

– What does a typical recording day look like for the participants?

– The contestants competing in the morning program start early and travel to the fort for safety briefings. After the recording is finished, they travel back to the mainland and do supplementary interviews.
