At the time of the crime, a 17-year-old youth is suspected of attacking a dance school in Southport, northwest England, at the end of July. In the attack, three girls aged 6-9 were killed and ten other people were wounded, eight of them children.

The suspect has Rwandan ancestry, but was born in Britain. After the attack, incorrect information spread on social media about, among other things, the background of the attacker, caused several days of riots, which were the most violent in Britain in a decade.

The suspect has refused to speak during interrogations.

The trial in Liverpool is expected to last four weeks.
