The trial in the new gang case moved to Sundsvall district court – the correctional service does not have time to transport detainees

A total of twelve people are indicted and it concerns, among other things, preparation for murder, serious weapons offences, serious drug offenses and money laundering.

The fact that the main hearing in the case, after a late decision, is held “on home ground” in Sundsvall’s district court means that it is the first time that the gang crime of recent years has been dealt with on site in Sundsvall.

The drug war in Sundsvall

  • A total of 49 defendants in three gang cases in Sundsvall – in one year

  • After the big police crackdown: Three appeal the Court of Appeal judges – want a trial in HD

  • But that in turn did not mean that there was rigorous security in the district court in Sundsvall on Thursday morning.

    No threat image

    – We have not received any information that there are any or any threatening images in this case, announced the staff at the district court office.

And the opening of the main hearing in the extensive gang case was a quiet affair. No incidents occurred and only a few audience members were present.

On Thursday, the prosecution team presented the indictment against the suspects, who deny most of what they are accused of. Four of the defendants and their defenders were present in the courtroom in Sundsvall, while the others were present via video link.

The main hearing continues for another 20 days and ends on June 5.
