Crazes on social media for the sake of followers, likes and interaction in general cannot be prevented. A 14-year-old boy died after eating chips made from the two hottest peppers in the world. The details in the autopsy report both made people say ‘give up’ and worried about the future of social media trends.
HE JOINED THE TREND HE SEEN ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The autopsy report of Harris Wolobah, a 10th grade student in the state of Massachusetts who participated in the “spicy tortilla chips eating challenge” he saw on social media last year and died suddenly, has been obtained.
HE TOOK TOO MUCH OF THE SPICY CHIPS
According to the report, Wolobah, who fell ill shortly after eating very spicy chips produced by the Paqui company, died as a result of “sudden cardiac arrest caused by consuming high levels of capsaicin (the active component of hot peppers).”
It was stated that the child also had an enlarged heart and heart muscle band disease.
THE COMPANY STARTED THE CHALLENGE: EAT CHIPS, DON’T DRINK WATER
Meanwhile, in the “challenge” launched on social media, the Paqui manufacturer asked consumers to share videos of themselves eating the product obtained from the two hottest peppers in the world and not to drink water after consuming the product.
HE WAS HOSPITALIZED
Dozens of children who participated in this “challenge”, which is common across the USA, were hospitalized.
