The trend broken – Besara behind Hammarby’s derby victory

Hammarby’s result: one point out of nine possible and two goalless games.

The trend ended against Djurgården and started with help from the rivals – the hand of Marcus Danielson.

Soon after, Hammarby’s goal drought was forgotten.

Nahir Besara made it 1-0 on penalties and with goals from Nathaniel Ajdei, August Mikkelsen and another penalty goal by Besara, the home team secured a long-awaited full points.

However, the ending was more exciting than what the 2-0 half-time lead signaled.

Djurgården reduced three more times, Oliver Berg, Haris Radetinac and Danielson on penalties, but in the end the visitors were a goal short.

Great joy

The spectators on the long sides of the Tele2 arena jumped while waving their green and white scarves and sang at the top of their lungs. There was just as much jumping, waving and singing on one short side.

The last time Hammarby played at home, however, there was a different sound in the barking, then the fans booed when they had had enough after two straight losses, Malmö FF and IFK Norrköping, and the goalless meeting with Mjällby

Now there was a lot of partying, one drink and another was thrown up into the summery light blue sky and hugs were distributed left and right.

Kramades also did it on the criticized artificial turf.

The home side enjoyed success in the derby.

Hammarby also quickly found their way in the derby. The players usually found the most attractive offensive surfaces, had a lot of the ball and the only thing missing was the scoring chances.

August Mikkelsen had the best, he pulled a half-volley high over Tommi Vaiho’s goal.

Danielson got the ball in his hand

Instead, they got help in getting a hole in Djurgården’s goalkeeper.

Marcus Danielson got the ball on his hand. Referee Mohammed Al-Hakim stood upright, saw everything and was quick to point to the penalty spot.

Djurgården’s players protested wildly without any success, the only thing that resulted in their referee talk was that Nahir Besara had to wait a long time to take the penalty.

But he kept his cool and sent in the lead goal to the left of Vaiho in the 34th minute.

— I decided early on. It felt like he was going to jump there so I hit it the other way, Besara, who was involved in all the goals, told Discovery.

A quarter of an hour later, in added time, full back Nathaniel Adjei made it 2-0 on a volley after Besara took the corner.

— We get the surfaces we want, we can also counter. We create enough to score goals, says Besara.

Djurgården created nerves in the derby when Oliver Berg scored 1-2 via Edvin Kurtulu’s knee in the 49th minute.

However, there were no major nervous breakdowns for the home team.

Seven minutes later, Mikkelsen got his next chance, this time he held down the shot and scored via Jesper Löfgren’s thigh to make it 3-1.

Djurgården’s Haris Radetinac headed in 2–3 before two penalty goals, Hammarby’s Nahir Besara’s and Djurgården’s Marcus Danielson’s, ended the match which Hammarby won 4–3.
