Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever plays influencer Belle Gibson in the series Faking cancer. She claims to her community that she can cure the disease simply by eating healthy foods. In doing so, she builds a wellness empire built on lies.
The miniseries comes from Samantha Strauss (The Dry) and is based on the non-fiction book The Woman Who Fooled the World by Beau Donnelly and Nick Toscano. It describes the events surrounding the real fake guru personality Belle Gibson.
