The recipe for success of Beverly Hills Cop – I’ll definitely solve the case spawned a three-part cult series in the 80s and even led to a series version.

Anyone who only allows Axel Foley and his baseball jacket on the screen with leading actor Eddie Murphy has been waiting for a reunion since 1994. That will change soon. The sequel comes around 30 years after Beverly Hills Cop 3 with the comedy superstar and today the first trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. was released.

This is what is known about the story of the new Axel Foley adventure with Eddie Murphy

Detroit cop Axel Foley has now become a father. When his daughter (Taylour Paige) is in danger, Axel turns to his old friends from Los Angeles. It’s not just Eddie Murphy coming back for the film. Judge Reinhold returns as the enthusiastic Billy Rosewood and John Ashton returns as police grump John Taggart. Stranger Things star Paul Reiser, who played Foley’s colleague from Detroit in the first two parts of the series, is also involved.

New to the cast, however, is Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises), who plays Foley’s partner. Kevin Bacon is also in the cast.

Then Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. comes to Netflix

Beverly Hills Cop 4 was created by Murphy and original producer Jerry Bruckheimer and is exclusively for Netflix. In the Summer 2024 The film is scheduled to appear on the streaming service.

For Eddie Murphy, the Axel Foley reunion is another part of his comeback, which began in 2019 with the Netflix film Dolemite Is My Name. Since then, Murphy has revived another ’80s hit in The Prince of Zamunda 2 and appeared in Netflix’s You People and most recently Amazon’s Candy Cane Lane.
