The toughest Sylvester Stallone film is no longer indexed after

Next to Rocky, Rambo is Sylvester Stallone’s most iconic role ever. However, the action franchise did not always have a perfect standing with German youth protection. The ultra-brutal fourth part John Rambo has been on the index in this country, uncut, since 2008 therefore could not be sold. Not anymore.

John Rambo is no longer indexed uncut in Germany

According to editing reports, the uncut version of John Rambo has now been removed from the index. This means that the only thing left to do is a new FSK test, after which the action hit will probably receive an 18 rating uncut. One new home theater release should also be announced shortly thereafter. The date is still open.

Sylvester Stallone calls John Rambo his best action film

In the Hollywood Reporter interview from 2022, the star spoke about how the fourth Rambo part was the best for him personal action favorite from his career is:

A film I’m really proud of – it’s the best action film I’ve ever made because it’s the truest – is Rambo IV, which is about Burma, where there has been a 67-year civil war. But I was angry because the film is so violent. And it’s violent. It’s terrible. They are children who are burned alive. That’s what makes civil war worse than anything else: it’s your neighbor suddenly killing you. I was really happy with this movie and never thought it would ever come to the cinema. I thought, ‘They’ll never show this.’

In the film’s story, John Rambo (Stallone) lives as a skipper in the Thai jungle to bring people across the river on his boat. When the military kidnaps a group of missionaries (including Julie Benz and Paul Schulze), Rambo is inadvertently drawn into the Burmese civil war.
