2024 James Dyson Award‘s top 20 list has been announced. One person from this list will be announced as the international winner by Sir James Dyson on 13 November and will receive a £30,000 prize money for the development of their invention. This year’s top 20 inventions address the world’s top priorities.

Jonathan Fisher, the inventor of the shortlisted Peter project in England, invented the wearable biomedical device to improve the quality of life of his father, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease and has a stiffness in his walking.
  • Increasing access to healthcare for everyone: A team of students from South Korea has invented the Oxynizer, an electricity-free oxygen generator aimed at helping developing countries. Austria’s shortlisted project, finGrip, has developed a catheter system adapted for users with low dexterity.
  • Managing waste and pollution: In Australia, young inventor Sze Yek’s experiments with his sister’s unused primary school uniform turned into Sorbet, an acoustic panel made from shredded home textile waste. Invented by Shane Kyi Hla Win and Danial Sufiyan Bin Shaiful, the Airxeed Radiosonde is inspired by fallen maple seeds to make daily weather measurements by radiosonde more sustainable.
