The tiger mosquito is black and white and comes from Asia. It can transmit more than twenty viral diseases, such as dengue fever, chikungunya and Zika. Well-known import routes are the import of used tires and so-called Lucky bamboo plants, but in recent years they have also been increasingly seen in residential areas. Holidaymakers import the insects unnoticed into their car, camper or caravan when they have been to Southern Europe. The tiger mosquito is already common there.
