The aid shipment is a convoy consisting of three ships that together transport close to 400 tons of food.
The aid via Cyprus became possible because the Cypriot authorities, in cooperation with Israel, have established a sea corridor to facilitate the delivery of controlled cargo to Gaza.

The American charity World Central Kitchen (WCK) arranged the mission with the Spanish charity Open Arms, with funding mainly from the United Arab Emirates and support from Cypriot authorities.
The convoy left the port of Lanarca, Cyprus on March 30 and is expected to arrive in Gaza during the morning of April 1, according to Marine Traffic.
Two weeks ago, the first ship of supplies arrived in Gaza. 200 tons of food were then delivered.
The UN warns of famine
The UN has warned that famine is imminent in the northern parts of the Gaza Strip, where some 300,000 people are. According to the UN, half of Gaza’s population, 2.3 million people, could suffer from starvation in July.
