The heightened alert level of US bases in Europe was due to the threat of sabotage caused by actors supported by Russia, reports the news channel CNN.
At the turn of the month, the alert level of several US bases in Europe was raised to the second highest level. Based on the intelligence received by the United States, Russia might indirectly attack the country’s military targets and personnel.
According to CNN, Russia has previously planned similar attacks across Europe.
