The Insidious series was created in 2010 by Saw and Conjuring director James Wan. Since then, the horror franchise has made five films. You can watch the latest part, Insidious: The Red Door, after its theatrical release in July 2023 now available as a subscription to Netflix for the first time stream. Horror trauma: That’s what Insidious 5 is about

The action of the fifth part takes place 10 years after the events of Insidious: Chapter 2. Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Renai’s (Rose Byrne) son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) is now going to college, where he is soon haunted by demons from his childhood. Once again the Lambert family has to face this together biggest trauma of her life place.

The Insidious franchise continues to be a guaranteed financial hit at the box office. According to The Numbers, the fifth part grossed over $186 million worldwide on a budget of $16 million. This is the horror sequel third most successful film of the year in its genre. Only Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Nun II were more successful worldwide.

Patrick Wilson directs (and sings!) for the first time in Insidious 5

Since the first part, Wilson has starred in front of the camera in almost all of the films in the Insidious series. He also changed for the fifth film for the first time in the director’s chair and took over the direction. To top it off, Wilson also sang the song that can be heard in the end credits of Insidious: The Red Door.
