A teenage boy is suspected of aggravated rape of an elderly woman in the municipality of Dals-Ed.
– We have decided to keep him in custody, says chief prosecutor Daniel Edsbagge.
According to information to Aftonbladet, the suspect first tried to get into another woman’s house.
On Thursday, the police were called to a residence in the municipality of Dals-Ed after an elderly woman was assaulted and raped in her home.
– He forced his way into her home and raped her, police spokesperson Thomas Fuxborg said at the time.
The woman’s husband later called home services, which in turn alerted the police.
Managed to close the door
According to information given to Aftonbladet, before the suspected rape took place, the teenage boy tried to get into another woman’s house.
When he tried to enter the woman’s residence, she managed to slam the door shut, thus escaping him.
The suspected perpetrator was arrested by the police and could later also be arrested on suspicion of rape.
– He is currently not under arrest for any other crime, says chief prosecutor Daniel Edsbagge
Have held new interrogations
During Saturday, new interrogations were held and according to Daniel Edsbagge, decisions on further detention will be made again tomorrow.
– The police have held around 25 interrogations so far and tomorrow they will hold even more, he says.
The boy already appears in the criminal register.
– But there should not be any crime that is relevant to this particular case, according to prosecutor Daniel Edsbagge.
