Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not allowed to play in the Champions League for Milan.
Now comes teammate Olivier Giroud’s words that baffle everyone.
– I’m pretty sure he will be involved, says the Milan striker to C More.

It’s the title he’s been chasing his whole career and now might be the last chance to win it. But when Milan plays in the Champions League, they can’t even Zlatan Ibrahimovic change into match clothes without remaining in the stands.

CL without Zlatan

Milan managed to manage a 0-0 draw against Tottenham on Wednesday evening and are thus through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. 1-0 in Milan from the first meeting was enough to knock out the English and advance, one step closer to the coveted CL final.

But it must do so without Zlatan’s participation. Because even though the star Swede is back in match play again, Milan chose not to register the 41-year-old in their Champions League squad for the spring playoffs.

Giroud’s words

The decision applies to the rest of the tournament, which makes it impossible for Zlatan to play in Europe. But it seems that not everyone in Milan understood, especially not the team-mate Olivier Giroud who hope for “Ibra” to the quarter-finals.
– I always need competition. We learn a lot from him (Zlatan) and he is very important in the dressing room. He will help us a lot all the way to the end and I am not sure, but I hope he is in the next Champions League list. We will need him also because he is experienced. He may not have been ready for this list, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be involved in the future, the Frenchman told the C More TV channel.

The words really baffle the TV experts in the C More studio and they do not understand at all what Giroud is talking about.
– I do not know. I still sit and have some kind of faith that it will be possible to get Zlatan into this squad, but it’s not going to happen. Giroud probably has the same thought, somehow we’ll get him into the quarter-finals, says Vicki Blomme in the television broadcast.

The colleague Kim Kallstrom also can’t understand how Milan can poke Zlatan from the CL squad when he should have been given, regardless of what the injury situation looks like.
– They talk in Milan that he means a lot with his experience and then maybe he wouldn’t have had to be in super form for them to enter him on the list. I find it very difficult to understand that, especially when they got Tottenham, where they felt: “We can take that”. It must be frustrating for Zlatan: “Wait, I’m going to watch these matches,” says the TV expert.
