There are few footballers who have experienced as much as Zlatan Ibrahimovic made during the playing career. He played football for four different decades and represented several of the world’s biggest clubs until he hung up his boots at the age of 41.
Zlatan’s career

As many titles as he has won, as many records as he has broken and as much as he has been a part of over the years, there have already been enough books, documentaries and films about his career and life. But there are still a lot of unknown stories that he himself has never told.
Fooled the police
Especially from his younger days when Zlatan was much more of a “bad boy” in the football world. Old teammate Andy van der Meydewho played with Ibrahimovic at Ajax in the early 2000s, particularly remembers a fond memory with the Swede.

When the Dutchman is asked to tell us something that we Swedes don’t know about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he remembers how his teammate tricked the police in Amsterdam with three clever words.
– We were good friends at the time. I remember that Zlatan had just bought a new Mercedes SL. We were out driving in Amsterdam, we went a little too fast and the police stopped us, says van der Meyde in an interview with Svenska Fans.
– Then only Zlatan told the police: “It wasn’t me who was driving too fast, it was only the engine that you heard”. The police couldn’t say anything either because they hadn’t measured his speed. So Zlatan got away with saying it was because of the engine. The police let us go. I will never forget that, he says with a smile.
