The team that developed Diablo 2 is back at Blizzard

The team that developed Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Diablo 2 announced that they will once again join hands with Blizzard.

Recently, we came across with Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remaster games. The team that developed Diablo 2 announced that they are rejoining Blizzard. Vicarious Visions, based in New York, which has been operating as a subsidiary of Activision since 2005, announced in 2021 that they would continue to work under the umbrella of Blizzard. Vicarious Visions, in a new tweet, stated that they have now officially switched to Blizzard.

The team that developed Diablo 2 reunites with Blizzard

Working together on Diablo 2: Resurrected, Blizzard and Vicarious Visions stated that both sides could get a lot out of this cooperation and decided to continue their work. Vicarious Visions was a major developer involved in many of Activision’s big budget games including Guitar Hero, Spider-Man, Tony Hawk, Crash Bandicoot, Destiny, Skylanders and Call of Duty. From now on, it will not be the Vicarious Visions brand and will operate entirely under the Blizzard name.

This means Vicarious Visions will suspend their work on Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot or Tony Hawk. At least until the sale of Activison/Blizzard to Microsoft is completed. Blizzard Entertainment is a game publisher and developer known for Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch and Hearthstone games. It is not known which games Vicarious Visions’ approximately 200 employees will currently be working on. They’re likely to be distributed to work on all Blizzard games for now.
