The team of owls has been named for the March matches in Iceland and Slovakia – with three completely new players involved

The Finnish men’s national football team is now starting a project aimed at the 2024 European Football Championships in Germany.

The January camp in Owls was canceled due to a corona pandemic. Now in March, the Owls will gather in Spain, where the team will play two practice matches.

During the summer and fall of 2022, the next group stage of the League of Nations will be played. Finland plays in the same Division B division with Montenegro, Romania and Bosnia-Herzegovina, which has become well known in recent years.

After coaching the team, head coach Kanerva told Sport that last year’s 15 matches have been analyzed and there are areas for improvement.

– Defensive gaming as a whole has worked well. Here, too, certain fine adjustments can be made. Offensive play, especially scoring against tough countries, has certainly been tricky. Meetings have been attached to it and with coaching. We already have plans to start implementing the camp in March, Kanerva announced.
