Four municipalities will raise the municipal tax next year, new figures from Statistics Sweden (SCB) show.
The biggest increase is in Övertorneå (75 öre), followed by Laxå (52 öre). Stockholm is also raising the tax by 24 öre.

13 municipalities get reduced taxes
For 13 municipalities, the tax will instead be reduced.
“Our municipality lowers the tax the most, by 60 öre. Next come Ale and Lidingö with reductions of 50 öre each,” says Peter Gardqvistinvestigator at Statistics Sweden, in a press release.
Municipal tax consists of two parts, regional tax and municipal tax. Only two regions will increase their tax rate for 2025 – Värmland and Dalarna. Others leave the tax rate unchanged.
