It was in the second period that Calle Odelius received a hard tackle from Viktor Lennartsson behind his own goal. He collapsed and could not support himself on one leg as he was led by the ice.
Lennartsson was not sent off for the tackle.
Odelius already played in the Junior WC last season and it is likely that he will be selected for the tournament to be played in Gothenburg at the turn of the year.
Djurgården won the match 3-2. The first goal was scored by 18-year-old Melvin Wersäll – the talent’s first goal in the first team.
Karlskoga equalized before Olle Liss thundered in to make it 2-1. Then the home team went into a 3-2 lead before Albert Lyckåsen hit hard to reduce the deficit.
After the final whistle, a serious fight broke out between the teams that lasted for a good while before the teams left the ice.
Djurgården is twelfth in the hockey Allsvenskan table, one point behind just Karlskoga.
