The Syrian regime and Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups based in the Kefercum village of Aleppo attacked the Daret Izze district in the west of Aleppo and the Terrmen village in the north of Idlib with land-based weapons.
According to information obtained from Civil Defense (White Helmets) sources, 1 civilian died in the attacks and 4 injured civilians were taken to hospitals in the region.
SITUATION IN IDLIB
At the Astana meeting in 2017, Turkey, Russia and Iran decided to create 4 “de-escalation zones” in the area not under the control of the Syrian administration.
The Damascus administration, Iran-backed terrorists and Russia continued their attacks, captured 3 out of 4 regions and headed towards Idlib.
Although Turkey reached an additional agreement with Russia to strengthen the ceasefire in September 2018, the attacks intensified again in May 2019. Following the new agreement reached by Turkey and Russia on March 5, 2020, the ceasefire is largely preserved.
Approximately 2 million civilians who escaped from attacks in 2017-2020 were forced to migrate to regions close to the Turkish border. (AA)
