The Sydorenko family in Ukraine have their panic bag packed

The Maroshchenko family is back in their hometown of Kharkiv after first taking refuge in Kiev. But they try to tell their daughter Alisa as little as possible about the war.

– We have not told them that bombs are falling here in Kharkiv and that they are shooting at us, says mother Olha Maroshjenko.

– When there is an air traffic alert, we say that it warns of bad weather and when there is a bang, we say that it was a thunderclap.
