The Swedish U21 national team’s nice revenge – crushed Moldova tonight

Sweden opened quickly. Already after eight minutes, Oscar Vilhelmsson had taken advantage of a return from Williot Swedberg.

And eleven minutes later it was Swedberg’s turn to get on the scoresheet when he angled in 2–0.

When Vilhemsson then kicked in his second of the evening, a carbon copy of the first goal, the match was over in the bad weather.

Moldova booked a ticket into the match when they conceded a penalty early in the second half. However, Hammarby goalkeeper Oliver Dovin made a fine save and had to keep his clean sheet.

Instead, the Djurgården talent Lucas Bergvall was able to run in 4–0 when there was one minute of regular time left.

A well-planned victory for Sweden, who have now had some contact with the top teams in the group.

Next up is an away meeting with Georgia on Tuesday.
