Fredrik Wikingsson will not follow the WC any more.
He boycotts – after the stars’ choice.
“Puke in my mouth!”, he writes.
It is only a few days into this year’s World Cup, but the criticism is ever-present. Before the championship, Fifa and Qatar have been criticized enormously, as thousands of migrant workers died during the construction of the stadiums, and in addition, Fifa has been accused of corruption, and accused of putting the World Cup in a country with a lack of human rights.
The star’s giant criticism
During the World Cup, several nations wanted to protest, but so far it has been tough. Several team captains said that they wanted a so-called “One Love” bond, to lift the right to love whomever you want, something that is not allowed in Qatar. But Fifa said that it is not allowed, and after threats that the team captains will be awarded a yellow card at the start of the match if the bandage is on, they immediately backed off.
England, Germany and Belgium were some of the nations leading the push for the One Love armband, but after the threat of a yellow card, Harry Kane, the England captain, went out for the World Cup opener wearing a normal armband. That makes Fredrik Wikingsson furious.
“This with the ties that the English (and others) thought was an important statement and which they then IMMEDIATELY backed down on when they were threatened with a ‘yellow card’ – that decides the matter. Not a FRAME of this WC I shall see. Shit it is. And in this righteous feeling I now embed myself,” he writes on Twitter.

“Spit in my mouth”
Fredrik Wikingsson continues by implying that the players are cowards.
“‘We think you should be allowed to be in love with whomever you want, this is important to us, we must MANIFEST for it.’
‘But then you risk ‘yellow card’ in some vague way that probably won’t even be implemented?’
‘Ok, got it, it’s not THAT important to us.’
SPIT IN MY MOUTH!”, he writes.
Germany has been the country that has been the most driving force in the matter, and when the decision came, they chose to react with Tokilese, and they have threatened to take the matter to court, to prove Fifa wrong. Germany open their World Cup on Wednesday, against Japan, and whether goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will then wear the One Love armband and receive a yellow card remains to be seen.
