On Sunday, the Swedish Transport Administration changes the planning system after eight years of preparation.
But from the train industry there is heavy criticism of the introduction because the system risks limiting the capacity for both passenger traffic and freight trains, which could have serious consequences.
The trade association Tågföretagen believes that they have been connected too late, despite repeated requests for risk assessments and an independent investigation.
A crisis meeting is currently underway with the Swedish Transport Administration to resolve the problem.
– At the latest yesterday, it turned out that the Swedish Transport Administration has no control over whether they can run in a planned way or not, or whether there could be major disruptions to operations, says Pierre Sandberg, federal director of Tågföretagen.
