The Swedish thunder sawing after the loss against the USA – here are the hard words in the hockey World Cup

Tre Kronor suffered its first loss in the hockey World Cup.
After coming from behind at the end and then falling in overtime against the USA.
Now comes the Swedish thunderbolt after the defeat.

For the first time in this year’s hockey World Cup, Tre Kronor got to experience what it’s like to lose. After good victories, the Swedes fell in the last group stage match against the USA and thus missed the group victory.

Swedish sawing

Although Tre Kronor managed to catch up and make a heroic recovery at the end of the match to save 1-3 to 3-3. However, the USA was slightly stronger and fairly won in extra time with 4-3.

Afterwards, the disappointment is great for the blue and yellow after the first defeat of the tournament. And the one that is most dejected is the Tre Kronor hill Timothy Liljegren which saws its own stake brutally.
– Tough. We don’t play a particularly good match, says Liljegren to SportExpressen before going into himself.
– I’m not happy, I’m playing a bad match. I’m a mess today. I give USA a free goal on their third goal and then I can be more substantial on their second goal on the power play. There isn’t much to be happy about.

Suffering from the hill

But Liljegren would still get revenge and was the one who scored the all-important 3-3 goal to take the group final to extra time. It gave him some comfort for the moment.
– At the moment, maybe it did, but otherwise I’m playing a pretty bad match, he says in the interview.

Another tough setback was that the hill colleague Rasmus Sandin injured himself badly after a nasty knee tackle by the American Michael Eyssimont in the first period.
– It is sad that he was injured. I didn’t see the tackle and I don’t know how it is with him. Tough for us, Rasmus is a good player. Hopefully he can come back, says Liljegren to the evening newspaper.
