The Swedish Tax Agency’s call to you – valid until Christmas

The Swedish Tax Agencys call to you valid until

December has begun and for many it is now a busy time leading up to the climax of the month: Christmas Eve. Others rather experience the peace of the cozy atmosphere that prevails around the country with Christmas signs, decorations and cozying up with the family.

One thing is certain, however: Christmas shopping is now starting to pick up steam.

Christmas shopping is expected to increase in 2024

In November, the analysis company HUI, which is owned by Svensk Handel, predicted that sales in the month of December are expected to break records when Christmas shopping starts.

– Maybe you save before and after Christmas to be able to maintain a traditional Christmas celebration and finance the Christmas party, said then William Lindquistanalyst at the trade association.

One of the reasons they saw as the basis for the expected increase was the inflation that has had a tight grip on Sweden recently. In line with a more stabilized inflation, the analysis company predicts this year that sales will instead grow by two percent during the month of December – the equivalent of SEK 1.5 billion.

– This year’s Christmas shopping takes place at a time when the economic situation has slowly started to turn upwards. We have had interest rate cuts, rising real wages and disposable incomes that have increased again. All in all, this means that consumers’ purchasing power ahead of Christmas this year is better than if we go back a year, when it was considerably gloomier.

As trade is expected to increase, trading places, shopping centers and malls will be filled with people. This has resulted in some quarters sounding the alarm about the increased risk that is expected to be directed at car owners.

News24 has previously written about how the thieves can use simple methods to get into your car and steal items, a phenomenon that has become increasingly common in environments where a lot of people park, for example shopping centers during Christmas shopping.

The Swedish Tax Agency’s call: You should do that

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s not just companies that go out and share information with the public.

The Tax Agency is the authority that regularly addresses the Swedes to share information and inform them about everything from the income declaration and refund to when residual tax must be paid and what you should think about in the event of a move.

Now they have once again shared information with the public where an invitation is directed to those of you who are going to go Christmas shopping.

“Christmas is just around the corner, trees are to be bought and Christmas presents are to be bought! Remember to take a receipt for a nice Christmas trade and a competition on equal terms. Sellers with a smaller turnover do not need to have a cash register, but everyone should be able to offer you as a customer a receipt. Even if you pay with Swish, you should receive a receipt. The payment in the app only shows that the money has been transferred, but it does not mean that the purchase has been entered into the cash register. for a nice Christmas shopping!”, writes the authority on its social media accounts, including Instagram.
