The Swedish Tax Agency: They will pay 100 million
As part of this assignment, the Swedish Tax Agency has carried out a check of haulage companies, between 2021 and 2024. It has then been discovered that cheating and errors occur, especially when it comes to unreported wages and employer contributions.
– It is not uncommon for companies to try to hide wages to avoid employer contributions. This is done through incorrect allowances, incorrect invoices and deductions for costs for subcontractors relating to wages to employees. More specifically, the authority has completed a total of 164 investigations, of which 119 cases received changed amounts. In total, SEK 100 million is to be paid in additional tax and fees.

“Cheating puts sticks in the wheels”
According to the Swedish Tax Agency, the withholding taxes are primarily a problem among the Swedish hauliers that carry out transport between countries. The risk of this problem is higher if they also pay foreign personnel and buy foreign services.
