The Swedish surprise at the judge’s words – was suddenly stopped after the new win in the Olympics: “I was shocked”

Sweden won against Germany.
Then they were surprised by the referee’s compulsion after the match.
– I was shocked, says Emma Lindqvist to Aftonbladet.

Sweden’s handball ladies have had a good start at this year’s Olympics. In the first round, they faced Norway, which has been pointed out as the big gold favorite before the championship, but it was a Swedish scalp and win with 32-28 after great play by goalkeeper Johanna Bundsen.

The Swedish success startup

And Bundsen also played a key role in Sunday’s match, in the second group stage, against Germany. Germany has also been singled out as a medal candidate for this year’s summer games, but Johanna Bundsen once again offered a match filled with giant saves, and Sweden finally won 31-28, and thus has a full pot after two games played.

The start is more than anyone could have hoped for, and after the win against Germany, Swedish players ran in to hug each other and celebrate – when they were suddenly stopped. Suddenly the referees came forward to make the Swedes stop celebrating.

– In the last match, we had time to celebrate for a very long time. Now I was a little shocked that we didn’t have time to celebrate, says Emma Lindqvist to Aftonbladet.

“I was chocked”

The reason is the tight schedule during the Olympic tournament in France, with many matches in the same hall. But it still surprised Lindqvist, who however meant that the celebration continued in the dressing room.

– They probably want us off the field as quickly as possible so that a new match can start. But I have no idea. I was actually a little shocked. Although we should probably be able to cheer in the dressing room, she says.

Emma Lindqvist herself scored a couple of important goals at the end of the match when Germany crept closer to Sweden in terms of goals. She said that Sweden did not listen to the judges one hundred percent.

– We went a bit wrong in what the judges told us. We had time to celebrate a little. I was the one who took some time when I pretended to be injured (laughs), she says.
