He’s one of our biggest stars in the NHL.
Now comes credible information about John Klingberg who makes his rivals rub their hands.
John Klingberg came to the NHL already during the 2014/2015 season and has since emerged as a real key player for the Dallas Stars. Over the years, there have been over 500 matches for the club, where he accounted for a total of 374 points.
Made successful
Over the years, Klingberg has consistently been one of the entire league’s best offensive backs, while the Dallas Stars have mostly been uneven. They have alternated magical playoff drivers with real bottom line, and over the past year, Klingberg’s future in the club has been a hotly debated topic.
He has had a seven-year contract that is now expiring, and there have been rumors that Klingberg and Stars are a bit apart in the negotiations. And now comes new information that – to say the least – strengthens it. According to Frank Servalli, a respected NHL journalist at the Daily Faceoff, Klingberg has now made a decision.
Stated to leave
According to Seravalli, Klingberg and Dallas have not succeeded in reaching an agreement in the negotiations, which means that Klingberg can reach the market as a free agent this summer. He is thus completely free to choose a club, and all teams in the league are free to give him offers.
Discussions with Dallas can continue, however, so a move is not completely out of the question, but now there are many indications that one of our biggest stars for the first time in his NHL career can change clubs. Klingberg was rumored to be out already this spring, and then there was talk of Stanley Cup challengers such as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers. Clubs with similar ambitions are likely to be interested this time as well.
