The Swedish stars completely broken after the new fiasco – now point out an embarrassing detail themselves: “Must be the last time”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

No Swede in the final in this weekend’s sprint.
Then the stars were completely exhausted – especially considering which Norwegian skater went on.
– It must be the last time this happens, says Edvin Anger.

Edvin Anger made an absolutely brilliant sprint qualification during the weekend’s competitions in the World Cup. Anger even threatened Johannes Kläbo himself, and he even made it to the semi-finals. But it stopped there.

Pointing out the embarrassing detail

There were no Swedes at all in the final, as Calle Halfvarsson was also eliminated. And there was one detail that was extra remarkable. The totally unknown Norwegian Håkan Asdöl was the one who made it to the final at the expense of the Swedes, and afterwards the Swedish stars were completely devastated by the fact that it was once again a Norwegian overtaking.

Calle Halfvarsson admitted afterwards that he had no idea who Håkon Asdöl was.

– No, it’s some new Norwegian. I have no control over him, he says to NRK, and continues:

– There are getting to be too many now.

Edvin Anger agrees:

– It’s the first time I’ve been beaten by someone I’ve never heard of. It’s not good. It must be the last time I get hit by him.

“It’s heavy”

Håkon Asdöl is 25 years old, but has thus not seen anything in the World Cup. So now he beat all the Swedes this weekend. Edvin Anger said he had a good day.

– It’s quite heavy because I thought I was ready for the final. It’s heavy, I had a good day, he says.

But the Swedes don’t have to feel bad about not having a solid understanding of the Norwegian. Not even the coaches in the Norwegian national team have a clue.

– I’ve seen the name, but I haven’t gotten that close to him. But it clearly looks good in ski Norway, says sprint coach Arild Monsen.
