Then the national team star in volleyball knocks both Armand Duplantis and Daniel Ståhl.

Where Ebba Andersson became the WC queen in cross-country skiing, Erik Karlsson was named the world’s best hockey defender in the NHL, the swimming queen Sarah Sjostrom became historic with the most WC gold and Hanna Öberg made a big success during the Biathlon World Cup. All the names above are nominated for the prestigious Jerring prize, also called the people’s prize, where the winner is chosen by telephone votes during the actual gala in January. Also the big star of volleyball Isabelle Haak as well as the hit duo David Ohman and Jonathan Hellvig are nominated for the prestigious award.

Nobbar Duplantis

Just Haak has had a fantastic year behind him and won four out of five possible club team titles as well as being the point queen and named best player in the Imoco Volley club team. She was also instrumental when the national team took silver in the Golden League and can now win the Jerring award for the first time in her career.
– It’s super fun! You can really see that volleyball has gotten a boost so it’s a lot of fun. A huge number of young people have started playing and that is very significant for the future of Swedish volleyball. And a nomination like this means that volleyball gets even more space in the media and more people open their eyes to the sport, she tells Radiosporten.

When Isabelle herself gets the chance to nominate her own favorite for the Jerring prize, she chooses to nod both advance favorites “Mondo” and Ståhl for a completely different choice.
– I have to support the volleyball community and then it will be David and Jonatan in beach volleyball. They have done it absolutely incredible. So young and so talented, took the whole of beach volleyball by storm and left his own mark on the sport.
