She is the best in all of Sweden in ski jumping.
But now Frida Westman chooses to continue her investment with Norway.
– I am very much looking forward to the future with the Norwegian national team, says the Swedish 22-year-old in a press release.
Although the last season was affected by injury problems, it still succeeded Frida Westman write new Swedish sports history. The Swedish star shot made it to several World Cup finals and also managed to reach the very first podium of his career at the World Cup during the past season.
Westman’s success
Sweden has long been thirsty for new successes in ski jumping, and the 22-year-old’s podium last season was actually Sweden’s first in the World Cup since 1992. But now comes the news, which causes great surprise at first but which then still sounds like the best possible option for her continued career.

Frida Westman has signed an agreement with the Norwegian Skiing Association and will continue her career together with the Norwegian national ski jumping team. Where she will train, travel and live with Norway and their practitioners.

Now selecting Norway
In recent years, the 22-year-old has lived in Trondheim, Norway, and had a collaboration with Trönderhopp to get the best possible development for his career.
– The collaboration that we have with Trönderhopp has worked very well and Frida has demonstrably developed into a dangerous top competitor in the World Cup. One problem, however, has been that Frida has been a one-man national team. I understand that it is extra tough to be a single athlete and I am happy that we managed to get this together in the way that we now have, says Andreas Arenasporting manager at the Swedish Skiing Association, in a press release.

Norway is at the absolute top of the world on both the women’s and men’s side in ski jumping, but it certainly stands out that Westman is taking help from a giant rival like Norway. The Swede has already started his training with the Norwegian national team and the big goal is the WC 2025 which will be held in Trondheim.
– The summer’s training and set-up have felt great. Now I bring the positive with the third place in Wisla. The body responds well to the training and it feels strong and good, so I am very much looking forward to the autumn and later winter season. I know that I will develop a lot, says Westman in the press release.
