At 6:27 p.m., it went off – for the first time in over 20 years, a Swedish research satellite was sent into space.
The departure took place from the Mahia spaceport in New Zealand, and if everything goes as it should, it is intended that Mats will eventually make observations that are important contributions to climate research.
The work with Mats has taken place for several years under the supervision of Swedish space engineers and researchers. The results will be studied by researchers worldwide.
