Elias Pettersson has signed an 8-year contract with his Vancouver Canucks, and this comes with a record signing bonus.

– Now it’s a bit of a trend for players to negotiate a high sign on bonus, says the Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrick Allvin in an interview with The Express.

Elias Pettersson signed his contract on March 2 this year, but the contract became effective from July 1. Elias has followed the trend and negotiated a high signing bonus.

Biggest signing bonus ever

The signing bonus means that Elias will receive 12 million dollars, i.e. 126 million Swedish kronor. This means that he is the Swede who received the highest bonus in the NHL ever.
