Anthony Elanga has exploded in the football world in the last year.
But he doesn’t let success go to his head.
But here he shows his great humble side to a young blue-yellow supporter.
He was born in Malmö to the former MFF player Joseph Elanga but the son is already well on his way to outshine the father when it comes to football career. Anthony Elanga started in Elfsborg and then went via Malmö FF quickly to Manchester United itself.
Elanga’s success
Since then, things have gone incredibly fast for the nimble winger. In just seven years, Elanga reached the A team and made his official debut in May 2021.
Since then, the 20-year-old has become a regular in Manchester United’s match squads and also got the chance in the Swedish A national team. Elanga had the opportunity to choose between Cameroon, England and Sweden but chose to wear the blue and yellow national team kit.
National team debut
He has already represented Sweden at U17, U19 and U21 level but at the beginning of 2022 came the big chance. When the Swedish Premier League star was called up to the men’s national team and so far there have been three international matches and one goal for the great talent.
But despite the great successes of the past year, Elanga still hasn’t let hubris get to his head. Instead, he has shown true humility and above all towards the young supporters who look up to him.
“A rolemodel”
The Swedish national team has posted a video, see it below, on Instagram that clearly shows the 20-year-old’s big heart. And that he does that little extra that means so much to the younger fans.
In the video, you can see how Elanga runs up to a little girl to give her her own football boots as a nice gift. A beautiful gesture that provides an unforgettable memory for the young gesture and Swedish football star is highly praised by other Swedish fans in the comments.
