This weekend, the Swedish skiers step into the new season in Bruksvallarna, and next weekend the World Cup starts in Ruka, Finland.
Since last spring, the fact that the stars Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist chose to leave the national team to train on their own has received a lot of attention.
Now, however, the duo reveals when we get to see them in the blue-yellow national team uniform again.
It was earlier this year that Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist chose to leave the national ski team since they did not agree with the management about their contracts. The decision became a big talking point in the skiing world and the two stars have not been part of the Swedish national team since then, but have been training on their own. Now they want to make a comeback.
Clear rule
For this weekend’s competition in Bruksvallarna, the situation will be immediately sharp for the riders when a place in the World Cup is at stake – and Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist will be on the starting line.

Competes in Swedish costume
Something that could put an end to Karlsson’s and Dahlqvist’s participation in the World Cup premiere in Ruka next weekend if their results in Bruksvallarna were to be equivalent to the national team riders.

Now, however, Maja Dahlqvist reveals that they will both compete in the Swedish competition outfit – regardless of whether they are part of the national team’s squad or not. During a question and answer session on her Instagram, Dahlqvist is asked if she will compete in the Swedish outfit.
“Yes! If you are selected for the World Cup, you compete for Sweden in the Swedish outfit,” she answers.
It remains to be seen whether the individual training ahead of the upcoming season has yielded enough results for the duo to get a place in the national team squad.
